Celtics end win streak
Boston saw a three-game win streak end on Sunday with a 123-108 loss at New Orleans. Boston had also covered in three straight prior to the loss. The Celtics are 30-15 on the season, 12-10 on the road, 26-17-2 against the spread and 25-20 with the under.
The Celtics are a solid defensive team this year, allowing just 105.6 points per game while opponents shoot 44.5 percent against them. Offensively, Boston puts up 112.3 points per game this season while shooting 46.1 percent from the field. The Celtics remain without Enes Kanter due to a hip injury, and Jayson Tatum is doubtful due to a groin injury. Tatum is averaging 21.5 points and 6.9 rebounds per game this season. Kemba Walker is leading the team with 22.4 points and 5.0 assists per game, while Jaylen Brown is averaging 20 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
Heat roll past Magic
Miami is coming off a solid 113-92 win at home over Orlando last night for a third win in four games. The Heat are now 32-14 on the season, 21-2 at home, 26-18-2 against the spread and 28-17-1 with the over.
The Heat are giving up 108.3 points per game on defense this season while opponents are shooting just 44.3 percent from the field. Offensively, Miami is averaging 112.2 points per contest while the team shoots 47.3 percent. The Heat could be without Kendrick Nunn again tonight due to an Achilles injury. Nunn is averaging 16.2 points per game this season. Jimmy Butler is leading the team with 20.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 6.5 assists per game. Bam Adebayo is adding 16.0 points, 4.8 assists and 10.4 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics are 9-2 against the spread in their last 11 games as an underdog and 7-2 ATS in their last nine games as a road underdog.
Miami
The Heat are 17-6-1 against the spread in their last 24 home games and 5-1 ATS in their last six Tuesday games.
Prediction:
Boston picked up a 112-93 win at home over Miami back on Dec. 4. This is a tough call, as the Heat have been tremendous at home, but they are a little short handed and coming off a game last night against the Magic. Orlando is a team that can’t put up big numbers on offense, but the Celtics are definitely a more capable offense. Boston is without Tatum, but they still have capable scoring and guys that can take over a game. The Celtics have raised their game against solid teams as of late and I think they will step up and take advantage of a fatigued Miami squad tonight.
NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics +2
