Nuggets hit the road
Denver comes in having won four of its last five games, but all four were at home and the lone loss was a road game. The Nuggets are 33-15 on the season, 11-11 on the road, 27-21 against the spread and 24-23-1 with the over.
The Nuggets are on the upper tier of the NBA when it comes to defense. The Nuggets are allowing just 106.2 points per game while holding opponents to 34 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Denver is putting up 112 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field. Jamal Murray is out for tonight’s game due to an ankle injury. He is averaging 18.5 points and 4.9 assists per game this year. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 20.1 points, 10.4 rebounds and 7.7 assists per contest.
Grizzlies snap skid
Memphis put and end to an 8-game losing streak on Saturday with a 106-103 win over Indiana at home. The Grizz also snapped a four-game failed cover streak in the win. Memphis is now 20-30 on the season, 12-13 at home, 20-30 against the spread and 30-29 with the under.
The Grizzlies have the league’s worst offense, as Memphis puts up just 100.8 points per game while shooting 45.2 percent. Defensively, the Grizz give up the second-fewest points in the league at 104 per game. Mike Conley has been leading the team with 20 points and 6.2 assists per game while Marc Gasol adds 15.4 points and 8.7 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Denver
The Nuggets are 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five conference games.
Memphis
The Grizzlies are 2-10 against the spread in their last 12 home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five games following a win.
Prediction:
Both teams have some injuries and both teams have some concerns. While Memphis did pick up a nice win over Indiana this weekend, it was the Pacers fist game without Oladipo. The loss of Murray hurts Denver, but the Nuggets still have capable scorers. I think this will be a close game throughout, but Denver’s ability to score will be the difference. Both defenses should do well at times, but the Nuggets can hit the outside shots and work with Jokic in the paint.
NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -5.5
