Miami Heat Fantasy Spin

Josh Richardson was held in check vs. the Cavaliers on Friday with 10 points, four assists, one triple and four turnovers in 37 minutes. He hit just 2-of-7 shots in 37 minutes which is a major buzzkill against Cleveland's last-ranked defense. Dion Waiters (migraine) sat this one out which makes this line even more puzzling. He still has top-80 value in standard leagues over the past month and we won't overreact to one bad game, but his lack of defensive stats this month has been odd -- he's averaging just 0.8 steals and 0.3 blocks in that span. Maybe it's fatigue or maybe he's a little banged up, but we'd expect him to pick things back up soon.

New York Knicks Fantasy Spin

Enes Kanter picked up another DNP-CD on Friday. Ouch. On Twitter this afternoon, Kanter posted a picture of himself against the Nets next to Shaquille O'Neal, which suggests his dominance against Jarrett Allen this season. Kanter has in fact owned Allen in the last two years, but coach David Fizdale still did not get him out there. After his comments saying "play me" or "just get me out of here" on Wednesday, it's fair to guess Kanter is not going to play with the Knicks again this season. He's still a strong stash because he could land in the right spot at the deadline.

NBA Betting Trends

Miami

The Heat are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 road games.

New York

The Knicks are 2-8 against the number in their last 10 home games.

Prediction

The Knicks are a dysfunctional mess but with the Heat not firing on all cylinders at the moment, I don’t want to lay five points with Miami on the road. Thus, the best bet might be the under, which is 16-5 in the last 21 meetings between these two teams at Madison Square Garden and is 8-3-1 in the last 12 meetings overall. The under is also 4-1 in the Knicks’ last five games, is 6-1 in their last seven conference tilts and 5-1 in their last six games playing on one day of rest. On the other side, the under is 5-1 in the Heat’s last six games and 5-1 in their last six road matchups.

Sunday NBA Prediction: Heat/Knicks under 211.5
