Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Jazz are 10.5-point favorites to beat the Timberwolves. The total, meanwhile, sits at 219 points and as of this writing, 52% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Jazz to cover the point spread.

Minnesota Timberwolves Fantasy Spin

Karl-Anthony Towns had another dominating performance against the Lakers during a 120-105 win on Thursday, scoring 27 points with 12 rebounds, five assists, one steal, two blocks and three 3-pointers in 31 minutes. The Wolves are running out of ball-handlers right now, and they'll be forced to run more offense through KAT. Derrick Rose (ankle) going down potentially means big things for KAT. Without Rose and Jeff Teague on the floor since the Jimmy Butler deal, KAT has per-36 stats of 28.5 points, 15.2 boards, 5.7 dimes, 2.6 blocks and 2.3 treys in a 253-minute sample. After the tough matchup with Rudy Gobert on Friday, Towns should be poised for some big lines as one of the best players in fantasy.

Utah Jazz Fantasy Spin

In his return to Utah's starting lineup, Ricky Rubio scored 17 points with six assists, three rebounds and two 3-pointers, making 6-of-10 FGs and 3-of-3 FTs in just 24 minutes. Rubio missed six games with a hamstring injury and admitted that he was "rusty ... forcing too much" during his return on Monday. He's still on a minute-limit and there's no clear indication when it will be lifted, but tonight's stellar effort suggests he should be safe to activate in almost any league. It helps that Utah doesn't play a back-to-back set until Feb. 1/2, as they conclude the month with games on Friday (vs. Minnesota), Sunday (at Minnesota) and next Wednesday (at Portland).
