Rockets vs. Celtics Prediction

Both the Rockets and Celtics are coming off losses, so who covers tonight when the two teams square off at 7:30PM ET in Boston?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Celtics are now 4-point home underdogs versus the Rockets after the game opened as a pick'em. As for the total, the number hit the board at 231.5 but was bet down to 228.5.

The Rockets have lost two of their last three games and are coming off a 127-114 defeat at Milwaukee. James Harden came up one rebound short of his 14th triple-double on the season, but was nevertheless a big factor for the Rockets in the loss to the Bucks. He scored 26 points with 12 assists, nine rebounds, four steals, one block and one 3-pointers in 40 minutes of play.

The Celtics fell 123-108 at Washington on Tuesday night but have also lost three straight overall. Despite the loss, Isaiah Thomas was excellent, scoring 25 points, 13 assists and two steals while hitting 7-of-19 shots. He was only 1-of-6 from 3-point range but has now scored at least 20 points in 28 straight games. His production is showing zero signs of falling off a cliff.

OUR PREDICTION: The Rockets have covered in 11 of their last 15 games in Boston and are 18-7 against the spread in their last 25 road games. They've also been an excellent bet to cover coming off a loss, going 20-7 at the betting window in their last 27 games following defeat. They're 23-10 against the number in their last 33 games after allowing 100 points or more in their previous game as well.
