Celtics vs. Lakers Pick

NBA Predictions: Are Lakers going to cover as dogs at home vs. Celtics? 1/23/18

Can the host Los Angeles Lakers cover the spread as an underdog tonight when they take on the Boston Celtics at 10:30PM ET?

Who Oddsmakers Like: Boston. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Celtics are listed as a 5.5-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 208 points. Boston opened as a 4.5-point fave, while the over-under has dropped slightly from 209.

Bet Tonight's NBA Action

Who the Public Likes: As of Tuesday afternoon, 76 percent of public bets have come in on the visiting Celtics.

Injury Report: Guerschon Yabusele has missed the last two games with an illness and is questionable tonight. Gordon Hayward is out indefinitely after dislocating his ankle and fracturing his tibia in the season opener. For the Lakers, Kyle Kuzma suffered a finger injury last game but is expected to play tonight. Brandon Ingram has an ankle sprain, but is expected to play tonight. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope has missed the last two games with a strained Achilles tendon and it is unknown whether he will play tonight. Lonzo Ball has missed the last four games with a knee sprain and is out again tonight.

Who the Trends Like:  Boston is 3-7 ATS in the last 10 meetings and 1-4 ATS in the last five meetings in Los Angeles. The under is 4-0 in the last four meetings.

Who We Like: Los Angeles looked very strong last night, blasting the Knicks by a count of 127-107 at home. It was the second straight decisive win at home for the Lakers, while the Celtics have dropped three in a row and now get to travel all the way across the country. Even though Ball is out, LA has figured out how to play without him. As long as Ingram is in the lineup, I like taking the points with the home team here.

NBA DAILY PREDICTION: LOS ANGELES LAKERS +5.5
