Boston Celtics Fantasy Spin
Kyrie Irving dominated during a 122-116 win over the Grizzlies on Friday, scoring 38 points with seven rebounds, 11 assists, one block and four 3-pointers in 36 minutes. He exploded in the third quarter with 20 points and is playing some of his best ball of his career. After the last game, Irving had a career-high 18 dimes and mentioned it after the game. "Somehow people still think I can't pass," he said. His recent output in passing makes him the first Celtics player to record 27+ points and 11+ assists in consecutive games since Larry Bird (Feb. 13-14, 1986). He'll have some risk rest late in the year, but Irving is among the best fantasy point guards when active.
Atlanta Hawks Fantasy Spin
Trae Young (illness) is questionable for Saturday against the Celtics. He has flu-like symptoms and there's no much else known here because the Hawks have been off since Tuesday. Young's shot selection has vastly improved with coach Lloyd Pierce telling him to get downhill more, and it's led to better efficiency. If he can't go, Jeremy Lin would likely start with Jaylen Adams getting the backup minutes.
NBA Betting Trends
Boston
The Celtics are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games when their opponent allows 100 points or more in its previous game.
Atlanta
The Hawks are just 2-7 at the betting window in their last nine home games versus an opponent with a losing road record.
Prediction
The Celtics are just 1-4 against the number in their last five games, have dropped four straight at the betting window on the road, and are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games when playing on zero rest. The Hawks, meanwhile, are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games playing on three or more days of rest, are 9-4 against the number in their last 13 games after scoring 100 points or more in their previous contest, and are 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games coming off a win. There is plenty of value in the home dog tonight.
