Suns trying to heat up

Phoenix has won three of its last four games following a 121-98 win at New York over the Knicks on Thursday. They ended a five-game coverless streak in the win on Thursday. The Suns are 17-24 on the season, 8-10 on the road, 21-19-1 against the spread and 22-19 with the over.

The Suns have a capable offense that is averaging 113.3 points per game while shooting 46.3 percent as a team. Defensively, Phoenix is allowing 113.9 points per game while opponents shoot 47.2 percent against them. Kelly Oubre Jr. is out for tonight’s game due to a concussion. He is averaging 18.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Devin Booker is leading the team with 26.2 points and 6.3 assists per game, while Deandre Ayton is adding 16.8 points and 12.0 rebounds per contest.

Celtics drop two straight

Boston is coming off back-to-back losses to the Pistons and Bucks. They are just 2-5 in their last seven. For the season, Boston is 27-13 overall, 16-4 at home, 23-15-2 against the spread and 22-18 with the under.

The Celtics are a strong defensive team, allowing 105.2 points per game while holding opponents to 44.6 percent shooting. Boston is putting up 111.5 points per game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field. Boston could be without Jaylen Brown tonight due to injury. He is putting up 20 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest. Kemba Walker is leading the team with 22.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists per contest. Jayson Tatum is adding 21.2 points and 6.9 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Phoenix

The Suns are 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games as a road underdog.

Boston

The Celtics are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games as a favorite.

Prediction:

Boston earned a 99-85 win at Phoenix back in November. That actually ended seven game failed cover streak against the Suns for the Celtics. The Celtics have struggled as of late, but they did get double-digit wins over the Pelicans and Bulls. They also competed with the Bucks. Phoenix has played well as of late, but they haven’t played the best of the best. I think Boston will be too much of a jump in competition. The Celtics can defend and Phoenix can’t possibly win without putting up a big total in this game.

NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics -7
