Nuggets heating up

Denver has won and covered the spread in four of its last five games following a 100-86 win over the Hornets last night. The Nuggets are 28-12 on the season, 11-7 on the road, 17-19-4 against the spread and 23-17 with the under.

The Nuggets are one of the strongest defenses in the NBA this season, allowing just 104.9 points per game while opponents shoot 45.4 percent against them from the field and just 32.6 percent from the arc. Offensively, Denver is averaging 108.9 points per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the floor. The Nuggets have some injury issues tonight as Jamal Murray is doubtful with ankle injury while Gary Harris and Paul Millsap are both questionable. All three average double figures in scoring. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 19.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest.

Warriors continue slide

Golden State extended its losing streak to nine games on Tuesday thanks to a 124-97 loss at home to the Mavericks. The Warriors are now 9-33 on the season, 6-14 at home, 19-23 against the spread and 25-17 with the under.

The Warriors have struggled a lot on offense this year, averaging just 104.5 points per game while shooting a league-worst 42.8 percent from the field. Defensively, Golden State is giving up 113.2 points per game while opponents shoot 47 percent against them. D'Angelo Russell is leading Golden State this season with 23.3 points and 6.0 assists per game. Alec Burks is adding 15.7 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Denver

The Nuggets are 3-7-2 against the spread in their last 12 games as a favorite and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games playing on no rest.

Golden State

The Warriors are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 Thursday games.

Prediction:

These two haven’t met this season, but I like Denver tonight despite the quick turnaround and the injury issues. The Warriors just aren’t a team looking to do much winning and they don’t have the players to win. Jokic should be able to dominate the paint in this one and the Nuggets have some scoring depth to help overcome the injury concerns.

NBA Prediction: Denver Nuggets -4.5
