Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin
C.J. McCollum was hot on Friday, scoring 30 points (12-of-20 FGs) with six rebounds, two assists, one steal and five 3-pointers in 29 minutes against the Hornets. McCollum notched his seventh 30-point game of the season in Friday's blowout win. He struggled from 3-point land for the whole month of December, but he's up to 38.9% over his last five games and has hit multiple triples in all of them. McCollum hasn't been quite as good as he has been the last few years, but he's surging of late and continues to be one of the more reliable players in fantasy hoops.
Denver Nuggets Fantasy Spin
Nikola Jokic posted a double-double for the seventh straight game Saturday vs. the Suns, tallying 23 points (8-of-15 FGs, 6-of-7 FTs), ten rebounds, four assists, one blocked shot and one three-pointer in 34 minutes. This wasn’t the best night for the Nuggets, as the team dropped a road game in Phoenix to the team with one of the NBA’s worst records. As for Jokic, while his double-double streak continues he was unable to post a third straight triple-double. In seven games this month the 7-footer is averaging 25.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 8.5 assists, 1.3 steals, 1.3 blocks and 1.5 3-pointers per game. Not only is Jokic one of the top options in fantasy basketball, but he’s also a player whose name has been mentioned by some in early MVP chatter (and rightfully so).
