Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Warriors are 6-point favorites to beat the Mavericks. The total, meanwhile, sits at 228 points and as of this writing, 62% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Warriors to cover the point spread.
Golden State Warriors Fantasy Spin
Stephen Curry passed Jason Terry for the third most 3-pointers in NBA history in Friday's blowout win over the Bulls, scoring 28 points with eight assists, five rebounds and five triples in 27 minutes. With 2,283 triples, Curry will now have his sights on Ray Allen (2,973) and Reggie Miller (2,560). He's been the third most valuable player in standard leagues on a per-game basis in standard leagues and we like his chances of remaining in the top five for the duration of the season, even with DeMarcus Cousins set to debut on Jan. 18.
Dallas Mavericks Fantasy Spin
Dennis Smith Jr. (mid-back tightness) is questionable for Sunday against the Warriors. He did not even travel for Friday, and coach Rick Carlisle didn't sound too encouraged about DSJ being ready soon. If he can return, Smith Jr. would have a higher floor for stat output with J.J. Barea out. If he can't go, Maxi Kleber and Jalen Brunson would be options with Kleber offering the higher upside.
NBA Betting Trends
Golden State
The Warriors are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games played on Sunday.
Dallas
The Mavericks have covered the spread in 12 of their last 16 home games.
Prediction
The under is 13-5 in the Warriors’ last 18 games when facing opponents from the Southwest and is 4-1 in their last five road games versus an opponent with a home winning percentage of greater than .600. The under is also 5-1 in the Mavericks’ last six games overall, is 6-1 in their last seven games playing on one day of rest and is 7-2 in their last nine home games.
Saturday NBA Prediction: Warriors/Mavericks under 228
