After opening as a small home favorite the Minnesota Timberwolves are now a home dog Saturday night to the New Orleans Pelicans. Despite the line movement, are the T-Wolves still a good play for bettors tonight?

According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Pelicans are 1-point favorites to beat the Timberwolves. The total, meanwhile, sits at 235.5 points and as of this writing, 54% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Pelicans to cover the point spread.
New Orleans Pelicans Fantasy Spin
Anthony Davis had another one of his patented monster lines during a 140-124 win over the Cavs on Wednesday making 11-of-17 from the field and 15-of-16 from the line for 38 points with 13 rebounds, seven assists, two steals, four blocks, one 3-pointer and one turnover in 37 minutes. He's still not fair, and AD is just the 10th player with at least 38 points, 13 boards, seven dimes and four blocks in a game in the history of the league. He has been about as good as it gets over the last 19 games of the season, averaging 30.7 points, 13.6 boards, 4.1 dimes, 2.0 steals, 2.7 blocks and 1.1 treys on 54.1 FG% and 80.7 FT%. There are only four other players in the NBA to even put up half of his nine-category value over this span (Harden, Kawhi, George), and he continues to give his owners a massive advantage whenever he steps on the floor.
Minnesota Timberwolves Fantasy Spin
Karl-Anthony Towns (ankle) is not listed on the Wolves injury report for Saturday's game vs. the Pelicans. KAT tweaked his ankle in Friday's loss to the Mavs. He was able to finish the game, tallying 30 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, four blocks and one triple in 30 minutes, but afterward said he was uncertain if he would play Saturday. Well, it seems like Towns woke up feeling okay, as he is not even listed on the injury report. Check back prior to tip-off for confirmation, but it appears KAT is ready to rock on the second night of a back-to-back.
NBA Betting Trends
New Orleans
The Pelicans have covered four of their last five spreads and are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games coming off two days of rest.
Minnesota
The Timberwolves have failed to cover in six of their last eight games coming off no rest.
Prediction
Despite a clear rest advantage for the Pelicans, I’m backing the Timberwolves. The home team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams while the Pelicans have dropped five of their last six games at the betting window versus the Timberwolves. New Orleans is also just 1-4 ATS in its last five trips to Minnesota while the T-Wolves have covered the spread in 10 of their last 14 games when their opponent allowed 100 points or more in its previous game.
Saturday NBA Prediction: Minnesota Timberwolves +1
