Pistons a mess
The Pistons could be the most disappointing team in the NBA this season. They have lost four straight and seven of their last eight following a 112-102 loss at Sacramento on Thursday. The Pistons have failed to cover in their last seven losses. Detroit is 17-23 overall, 6-13 on the road, 17-22-1 against the spread and 21-19 with the under.
Detroit has been one of the worst shooting teams in the NBA. They average 106.9 points per game while ranking second-to-last in field goal percentage (43.5) and 3-point percentage (32.7). Defensively, the Pistons are giving up 109.8 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 47.3 percent. Blake Griffin is doing what he can, averaging 25.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 5.3 assists for the Pistons while Andre Drummond adds 16.7 points and 14.9 rebounds per game.
Clippers fall at Denver
The Los Angeles Clippers are coming off a 121-100 loss at Denver on Thursday to snap a three-game win and cover streak. The Clippers come into today 24-17 on the season, 14-6 at home, 24-17 against the spread and 24-17 with the over.
The Clippers have one of the top offenses in the league, averaging 115.6 points per game this season while shooting 38.2 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Clippers struggle. They are giving up 114.3 points per game. Former Piston Tobias Harris is leading the team with 21 points and 8 rebounds per game while Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.5 points and 6.1 rebounds per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Detroit
The Pistons are 1-6 against the spread in their last seven road games and 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 games on 1 day of rest.
Los Angeles
The Clippers are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven home games and 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games against Central Division opponents.
Prediction:
The Pistons are a dumpster fire right now. They have completely fallen apart after a strong start to the season. While Griffin should be motivated to play well against his former team, he hasn’t been the problem in the first place. Griffin has given his all and his supporting cast looks lifeless. Harris is also playing against his former team and he has the home-court edge with an offense that can score far more consistently. Look for the Clippers to roll.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers -7
