Public Betting Trends

According to the latest oddsmakers, the Grizzlies are the slim favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -1 point against the Spurs. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 234 points. The public betting currently has 63 percent going on Memphis as the home favorite. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our NBA Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Spurs win two straight

San Antonio has won its last two games, besting the Bucks and the Celtics this week. The Spurs also have covered the spread in three straight games. San Antonio is 16-20 on the season, 5-11 on the road, 14-21-1 against the spread and 23-13 with the over.

The Spurs are putting up 114 points per game this season while shooting 47.4 percent from the floor and 37.2 percent from the arc. Defensively, San Antonio is giving up 114.8 points per game while opponents shoot 46.2 percent against them. DeMar DeRozan is leading San Antonio with 22 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 19.1 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.

Grizzlies heating up

Memphis is riding a three-game win streak following a 119-112 win at home over Minnesota on Tuesday night. The Grizzlies are 16-22 on the season, 8-12 at home, 19-18-1 against the spread and 21-17 with the over.

The Grizzlies are struggling on defense this year, giving up 116.3 points per game while opponents shoot 46.4 percent against them. Offensively, Memphis is putting up 112.6 points per game while shooting 46.9 percent from the floor. Ja Morant is leading Memphis this year with 17.8 points and 6.6 assists per game. Jaren Jackson Jr. is adding 17.8 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

San Antonio

The Spurs are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six road games and 8-3-1 ATS in their last 12 games as a road favorite.

Memphis

The Grizzlies are 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games and 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven games overall.

Prediction:

The Spurs rolled the Grizzlies back on Dec. 23 in Memphis, 145-115. The Spurs shot 60 of 89 from the floor in the game in a remarkable offensive showing. Memphis won the meeting in San Antonio, 113-109, back on Nov. 11. Both teams are playing pretty well right now, but I think the Grizz will be thinking heavily about that 30-point loss at home a few weeks ago and wanting to right that wrong. Memphis has scored at least 117 points in five straight and the offense is really clicking. San Antonio, despite the win at Memphis prior, hasn’t been very reliable on the road throughout the season. I think they run into a motivated Memphis team tonight that will have a little more juice with their young legs.

NBA Prediction: Memphis Grizzlies -1
