Thunder drop two on the road

Oklahoma City dropped two straight at home, losing to the Wizards and Timberwolves during the last week. The Thunder are now 25-15 on the season, 12-9 on the road, 22-18 against the spread and 22-18 with the under.

OKC has been playing quite well on defense this season, allowing just 106.1 points per game while limiting opponents to 44.8 percent shooting from the field and 33.3 percent shooting from the arc. Offensively, Oklahoma City is putting up 111.7 points per game this year despite shooting just 32.3 percent from the arc. Russell Westbrook is averaging 21.2 points, 10.8 rebounds and 10.3 assists per game to lead the team while Paul George is adding 26.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per contest.

Spurs end win streak

San Antonio had a five-game win streak come to an end on Wednesday night with a 96-86 loss at Memphis. The Spurs had also covered the spread in seven straight games prior to that. San Antonio is now 24-18 overall, 17-5 at home, 25-16-1 against the spread and 23-18-1 with the over.

The Spurs are putting up 111.3 points per game on offense while shooting a league-best 39.7 percent from the arc. Defensively, San Antonio is allowing 108.3 points per game while allowing opponents to shoot 46 percent from the field. Rudy Gay is out for the Spurs tonight with a wrist injury. DeMar DeRozan is leading the Spurs with 22.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists per contest. LaMarcus Aldridge is adding 19.8 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.

NBA Betting Trends

Oklahoma City

The Thunder are 5-2 against the spread in their last seven road games, but just 1-4 ATS in their last five games against Southwest Division opponents.

San Antonio

The Spurs are 5-0-1 against the spread in their last six games following a loss and 6-1 ATS in their last seven Thursday games.

Prediction:

The Thunder haven’t been playing well as of late and now they find themselves as a road favorite against a San Antonio team is 16-6 against the spread at home. The Spurs have been gradually improving throughout the season and seem to be hitting their stride. We can’t say the same of the Thunder and that is reason enough for me to take the home underdog.

NBA Prediction: San Antonio Spurs +1.5
