Clippers on a hot streak
The Clippers have won three straight games coming into tonight, as they are coming off a 128-109 win over Charlotte on Tuesday. Los Angeles has covered the spread in three straight as well. The Clippers are 24-16 on the season, 10-10 on the road, 24-16 against the spread and 24-16 with the over.
Los Angeles has one of the top offenses in the league, averaging 116 points per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the arc. Defensively, the Clippers are allowing 114.1 points per game. Tobias Harris is leading the team this season with 21.1 points and 8.0 rebounds per game while Danilo Gallinari is adding 19.5 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest.
Nuggets playing well
Denver is coming off a 103-99 win at Miami on Tuesday for its sixth win over the seventh game. The Nuggets have covered the spread in three of their last four. Denver is 27-12 on the season, 16-3 at home, 22-17 against the spread and 21-17-1 with the under.
The Nuggets have one of the stronger defenses in the league, allowing just 105.5 points per game while giving up the fewest rebounds in the league (41.8 per game). Offensively, Denver puts up just 110.5 points per game, but has the sixth-best rebounding average (47.1 per game). Despite just returning from injury, Gary Harris is back on the injury report and is questionable to play tonight with a hamstring issue. Nikola Jokic is leading the team with 19.2 points, 10.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game while Jamal Murray is adding 18.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 5.0 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The Clippers have covered the spread in four straight road games and six of their last seven conference games.
Denver
The Nuggets have covered the spread in eight of their last 10 home games, but just 1-5 ATS in their last six conference games.
Prediction:
The Clippers won the first meeting with Denver at home, 132-111, back on Dec. 22. The Nuggets have been playing well as of late, but most of their wins have come against weaker opponents and they haven’t covered in a number of them. I think the Clippers will give them a challenge and possibly pick up the road win. Denver is still short handed and the Clippers have the offense to make this game competitive.
NBA Prediction: Los Angeles Clippers +6
