Celtics look to get back on track

Boston is coming off a 129-114 loss at home to the Spurs last night, their second consecutive defeat. The Celtics are just 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games. Boston is 25-10 overall, 11-7 on the road, 20-13-2 against the spread and 20-15 with the under.

The Celtics are one of the strongest defensive teams in the league this season, allowing just 104.3 points per game while opponents shoot 44.0 percent from the field. Offensively, Boston is putting up 110.9 points per game while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Kemba Walker is leading Boston with 22.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game. Jayson Tatum is adding 20.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

76ers end losing streak

Philadelphia is coming off a 120-113 win at home over Oklahoma City on Monday to end a four-game losing streak. The 76ers are now 24-14 on the season, 17-2 at home, 15-19-4 against the spread and 19-18-1 with the over.

The 76ers are giving up just 105.9 points per game this season while holding opponents to 45.7 percent shooting. Offensively, the 76ers are putting up 109.8 points per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field. The Sixers will be without team leader Joel Embiid tonight due to a finger injury. He is averaging 23.4 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Tobias Harris is adding 19.4 points and 6.5 rebounds per game for Philly.

NBA Betting Trends

The Celtics are 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games as an underdog and 4-1 ATS in their last five road games.

The 76ers are 2-5-2 against the spread in their last nine games as a favorite and 0-6-1 ATS in their last seven games when playing on two days rest.

Philly has won and covered the spread in both meetings with the Celtics this season. Tonight is an interesting meeting as both teams are in a bit of a funk. Boston looked awful at home last night, especially on defense. Their offense struggled at Washington just a few days ago. Philly has really struggled with good defensive teams as of late, which Boston usually is. Without Embiid on the floor, I think the Boston defense will be able to really lock in and force the Sixers into being an outside-shooting team. That hasn’t worked out well for Philly.

NBA Prediction: Boston Celtics +2.5
