Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Jazz are 9-point favorites to beat the Magic. The total, meanwhile, sits at 207 points and as of this writing, 65% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Jazz to cover the point spread.
Orlando Magic Fantasy Spin
Jonathan Isaac scored just two points on 1-of-6 shots vs. the Kings on Monday, adding one rebound and one steal in 23 minutes. If he's not racking up defensive stats like he's capable of, he's not helping your fantasy team. Isaac has been one of the most frustrating players to own in fantasy and his blocks and steals are the only thing keeping his value afloat in category leagues.
Utah Jazz Fantasy Spin
Donovan Mitchell hit 8-of-24 shots for 26 points in Monday's 114-102 loss to the Bucks. Just when you thought he was turning a corner from an efficiency standpoint (he hit a combined 17-of-33 shots in his previous two games), Mitchell buries his owners in the FG% column once again. The rest of his line wasn't much better with three rebounds, one assist and seven turnovers, but at least he hit six triples. He's going to be running the offense a lot more if Ricky Rubio (hamstring) misses time, as he gets a 3% usage rate bump with Rubio off the floor and his assist percentage jumps up by 8%.
NBA Betting Trends
The Magic are 11-5 against the spread in their last 16 games coming off one day of rest.
The Jazz are just 3-7 against the number in their last 10 home games versus a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400.
The Magic have had some ATS success in this series, posting a 5-1 record against the spread in their last six trips to Utah. The underdog is also 19-6-1 against the number in the last 26 meetings between these two teams while the road squad is 10-3 ATS in the last 13 meetings. That said, Orlando is 1-4 against the spread in its last five games overall. They’re also 1-6 at the betting window in their last seven road games while the Jazz are 6-2 against the number in their last eight home games.
