Public Betting Trends
According to oddsmakers from online sportsbook BetNow.eu, the Pelicans are 14-point favorites to beat the Cavs. The total, meanwhile, sits at 223 points and as of this writing, 59% of the public betting tickets wagered at online sportsbooks are on the Pelicans to cover the point spread.
Cleveland Cavs Fantasy Spin
Tristan Thompson double-doubled vs. the Pacers on Tuesday with 15 points, 13 rebounds, five assists and two blocks in 35 minutes. Thompson did miss practice on Monday because of his foot, but it was likely just a rest day. The Cavs are super thin up front right now and Larry Nance left tonight's game with a knee injury, so Thompson may have to soak up more minutes in the short term. His fantasy owners aren't complaining because he's been a 9th-round value in standard leagues since returning four games ago.
New Orleans Pelicans Fantasy Spin
Anthony Davis played through a tweaked shoulder in Monday's 114-95 win vs. the Grizzlies, scoring 36 points with 13 rebounds, three assists, two steals and three blocks in 35 minutes. He made his daily trip to the locker room early in the second quarter after taking a hit to his left shoulder and he was grimacing, but he quickly returned. There was no mention of his injury post game, so we'll assume he's ok. Davis continues to put the Pelicans on his back and is now the franchise leader in consecutive games with at least 20 points and 10 rebounds (11 in a row).
