Chicago Bulls Fantasy Spin
Fred Hoiberg would rather be a coach than serve in a front office role. "My passion is in coaching," Hoiberg said, "and I'm looking forward to what lies ahead. I am not prioritizing one over the other in respect to the NBA and college. The jobs are so different that you cannot compare them, so I plan on evaluating whatever opportunities may come independently." Hoiberg has been linked to the Wolves and UCLA for potential coaching gigs, so it'll be interesting to see how this one plays out.
Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin
C.J. McCollum played 37 minutes Monday vs. the Knicks, finishing with 17 points (7-of-17 FGs, 1-of-1 FTs) with three rebounds, two assists, one steal, one blocked shot and two 3-pointers. McCollum hasn't gotten off to the best of starts this month, as in four games he's shooting 38.2% from the field and 26.3% form beyond the arc. And with averages of 3.7 assists and 2.3 rebounds per appearance this month, he hasn't produced enough in non-scoring categories to make up for the cold shooting. McCollum should break out of the slump soon enough, but even if he does get more from areas such as assists and rebounds, it would give his fantasy value a nice boost.
