According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Golden State is favored at home, as the Warriors are getting odds of -10.5 points against Denver. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 226 points. Denver has won two of its last three meetings in this series and they are 5-2 against the spread in the last seven encounters. Tonight’s game takes place from ORACLE Arena in Oakland, California.
Denver has lost three of its last five following a 106-98 loss at Sacramento on Saturday. The Nuggets are 21-18 overall, 7-14 on the road and 19-19-1 against the spread. They have covered in six of their last eight games. Denver is scoring 107.4 points per game while allowing 105.6 per contest. Gary Harris is putting up 16.5 points per game to lead the team while Nikola Jokic is adding 15.7 points and 10.1 rebounds per contest.
The Warriors have won four straight games, including a 121-105 win at the Clippers on Saturday. Golden State is now 32-8 overall, 15-5 at home and 19-21 against the spread. The Warriors have covered in their last two games. They are averaging 115.8 points per game on offense while allowing 106 per contest. Stephen Curry is putting up 27.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game to lead the team while Kevin Durant is adding 25.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists per game. Durant is questionable for tonight’s game due to his lingering calf injury.
Both of these teams know how to score and both struggle on defense. While the Warriors have the better scoring options, their scoring average isn’t that much higher than Denver’s. Golden State is also dealing with some injuries to its top start, even though some will play tonight. I think Denver has the ability to keep this shootout close and I will take the points. The public betting is backing the Warriors, but I like the Nuggets to cover.
