Houston Rockets Fantasy Spin
James Harden had a signature MVP moment during a 135-134 win at Golden State on Thursday, finishing with 44 points, 10 rebounds, 15 assists, one steal, two blocks and 10 triples in 44 minutes. He hit a 30-foot, step-back trey with 51.4 seconds left in regulation to tie the game, and he hit a contested 29-footer jumper to give the Rockets a one-point lead with 2.7 seconds left in overtime to earn their sixth consecutive win (video in link below). He's on one of the most ridiculous heaters of all time, averaging 41.1 points, 7.1 boards, 9.5 dimes, 2.1 steals and 6.1 treys over his last 11. He's also scored 40-plus points in five straight to put him in elite company with Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan, Elgin Baylor, Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson also accomplishing this feat. The Beard is the favorite for MVP right now.
Portland Trail Blazers Fantasy Spin
C.J. McCollum struggled from the field on Friday, scoring just 10 points on 4-of-15 shooting to go with two rebounds, five assists and two 3-pointers in 32 minutes against OKC. After busting out for 35 points against the Sixers on Sunday, McCollum has tallied 26 points total in the two games since. He has now shot below 50% in seven of his last 10 games. McCollum has gone four consecutive games without a steal, which is now his longest such streak this season. He's too good of a player to continue struggling like he has over the last two weeks and will break out of his shooting funk at some point. This is the perfect time to attempt to buy-low.
