76ers drop third straight
Philadelphia has lost three straight following a 115-97 loss at Indiana on Tuesday night. It is the team’s sixth loss in nine games. The 76ers are 23-13 on the season, 7-11 on the road, 15-17-4 against the spread and 18-17-1 with the over.
The 76ers are a solid defensive team, allowing just 105.4 points per game while opponents shoot 45.6 percent against them. Offensively, Philly averages 109.6 points per game while shooting 47 percent as a team. Joel Embiid is leading the team with 23.7 points and 12.4 rebounds per game while Tobias Harris is adding 19.4 points and 6.6 rebounds per contest.
Rockets run past Denver
Houston is coming off a 130-104 win at home over Denver for its sixth win in eight games. The Rockets have covered the spread in their last five wins. Houston is 23-11 on the season, 12-4 at home, 17-17 against the spread and 19-15 with the under.
The Rockets are putting up 119.4 points per game on offense this season while shooting 45.5 percent from the field. Defensively, Houston is giving up 114 points per game while opponents shoot 45.9 percent from the floor. James Harden is leading the team with 38.2 points, 5.8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. Russell Westbrook is adding 24.2 points, 8.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists per contest.
NBA Betting Trends
Philadelphia
The 76ers are 2-6-1 against the spread in their last nine road games and 1-3-1 ATS in their last five games following a loss.
Houston
The Rockets are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games playing on two days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a favorite.
Prediction:
The 76ers are in a funk, mostly because of their issues hitting outside shots and teams being able to adjust their defense to force Philly into shooting from the outside. Houston is not exactly known for defense, but the Rockets can definitely score, especially at home. While Philly may see some improvement on offense in this game, I don’t see the 76ers being able to keep pace with Houston’s scoring, especially their guard play. I will go with the Rockets to simply outscore the 76ers tonight.
