Heat grind out Raptors

The Heat are coming off an 84-76 win at home over the Raptors last night for their sixth win over their last seven games. Miami is 25-9 on the season, 9-8 on the road, 20-12-2 against the spread and 20-13-1 with the over.

The Heat are putting up 111.6 points per game on offense this season while shooting a solid 46.8 percent from the floor and 38.3 percent from the arc. Defensively, Miami is allowing 107.2 points per game while holding opponents to 44.1 percent shooting. Jimmy Butler is leading the team with 20.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 6.6 assists per game. Kendrick Nunn is adding 15.7 points and 3.7 assists per game.

Magic trying to heat up

Orlando is coming off a 122-101 win at Washington on Wednesday, but the Magic are just 3-5 in their last eight games. Orlando is now 15-19 on the season, 10-7 at home, 14-18-2 against the spread and 17-16-1 with the under.

The Magic are one of the better defensive teams in the league, but one of the worst offensive teams. Orlando averages just 103.4 points per game while shooting 43.2 percent from the floor. On defense, the Magic are allowing just 104.6 points per game while opponents shoot 45.5 percent against them. Nikola Vucevic is leading the team with 18.2 points and 10.7 rebounds per game, while Evan Fournier is putting up 19.4 points and 3.1 assists per contest.

NBA Betting Trends

Miami

The Heat are 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 Friday games and 1-4-2 ATS in their last seven games playing on no rest.

Orlando

The Magic are just 3-7 against the spread in their last 10 home games, but 5-2 ATS in their last seven games following a win.

Prediction:

These two rivals haven’t met yet this season, but Orland has been a problem for Miami in the past, winning and covering in four of the last five meetings. Despite that, I think Miami has too much offense for Orlando tonight. The Heat struggled shooting last night, but still found a way past a Toronto team that doesn’t have a lot of offense at the moment. Now the Heat face another poor offense tonight in Orlando. While the Magic can defend, they have struggled with teams that can put up points because they don’t have the weapons to respond. I don’t see Miami struggling from the floor again tonight.

NBA Prediction: Miami Heat -2
