Bradley Jr. breaks it open with grand slam
Jackie Bradley Jr. hit an eighth-inning grand slam off Roberto Osuna yesterday to add some insurance runs in Boston's 8-2 victory in Game 3 at the Astros. It was Bradley Jr.'s only hit in four at-bats. Andrew Benintendi finished 2-for-5 and scored a run. J.D. Martinez was 1-for-4 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Xander Bogaerts went 1-for-4 with a walk and an RBI. Rafael Devers came off the bench to go 1-for-1 with a walk and a run. Nathan Eovaldi picked up the win as he allowed two earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and two walks over six innings of work.
Altuve scores both runs
Jose Altuve finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs in yesterday's loss to Boston. Alex Bregman went 2-for-3 with a double, a walk and an RBI. Marwin Gonzalez was 1-for-4 with an RBI. Joe Smith took the loss as he allowed one earned run on one hit in one-third of an inning.
Rick Porcello (17-7, 4.28 ERA) will start today for the Red Sox, while the Astros are countering with Charlie Morton (15-3, 3.13).
MLB Betting Trends
Boston
The over is 8-1 in the last nine Red Sox games on Wednesdays. The over is 14-3-1 in the last 18 Boston games overall.
Houston
The Astros are 7-1 in their last eight games following a loss. Houston is 25-8 in its last 33 games overall.
Prediction:
Boston is putting Porcello on the mound and he's been solid as of late, whehter it's as a starter or reliever. I happen to trust him in this matchup. While Morton has had an outstanding season, he was injured in September and regressed somewhat as the season progressed. I think the Red Sox are priced a little too good for this game and I'm going to throw my money on them. If you hit on either Milwaukee or Boston betting a unit each, it's a good day. Hit them both and it's a great day.
