Maybin provides lone offense

New York suffered a 2-1 loss in 12 innings Tuesday night at Tampa Bay to drop to 102-56 overall and 45-32 on the road. Cameron Maybin was 1-for-5 with a solo home run to lead the Yankees offense. Giancarlo Stanton went 1-for-4 with a walk. Mike Ford finished 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit double. Cory Gearrin took the loss as he allowed one earned run on one hit without recording an out. Jonathan Loaisiga gets the start tonight for New York as he enters with a 2-1 record, 4.24 ERA and 1.42 WHIP plus 34 strikeouts across 29 2/3 innings pitched.

Choi socks walk-off homer

Ji-Man Choi hit a walk-off solo home run Tuesday night to lead Tampa Bay to a 2-1 victory over New York. Choi ended the contest 1-for-4 with the solo homer plus a walk. Kevin Kiermaier went 1-for-4 with a solo home run. Austin Meadows finished 2-for-4 with a walk to also contribute. Peter Fairbanks picked up the win in relief as he allowed one hit with one strikeout and no walks over one scoreless frame. MLB Betting Trends

New York

The Yankees are 0-4 in the last four Loaisiga starts. New York is 61-29 in its last 90 games overall.

Tampa Ray

The Rays are 4-0 in the last four Morton starts. Tampa Bay is 35-16 in its last 51 games overall.

Prediction:

Tampa Bay sends the nearly always reliable Morton to the hill today and he should get better run support than Rays' pitcher received yesterday. Loaisiga has shown flashes, but he is still young and prone to mistakes. Look for Tampa Bay to get another big win here in its quest for an AL Wild Card bid.
