James impressive in win
Astros starting pitcher Josh James threw 5 1/3 shutout innings to get the win last night as he allowed four hits while striking out seven and walking one. Marwin Gonzalez helped pace the offense by going 2-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two runs and two RBIs. Tyler White was 1-for-4 with an RBI double, while Brian McCann finished 1-for-2 with a run and an RBI.
Cano has three-hit night
Robinson Cano ended the contest 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles last night in the loss at Hosuton. Chris Hermann finished 1-for-3 plus a walk. Mike Leake took the the loss as he surrendered five earned runs on six hits with three strikeouts and no walks over 6 1/3 innings.
The Mariners have not announced their starting pitcher tonight, while the Astros turn to Dallas Keuchel (11-10, 3.57).
MLB Betting Trends
The Mariners are 7-2 in their last nine games following a loss. The over is 11-4 in Seattle's last 15 Wednesday games.
The Astros are 8-2 in their last 10 home games. Houston is 20-6 in its last 26 games overall.
Seattle is struggling too much to trust to win a series on the road, plus we don't even know who its starting pitcher will be. That rarely bodes well. Keuchel is consistent, at home and has a good offense backing him. Go with Houston.
