St. Louis Cardinals DFS SPIN
Jon Lester yielded two runs on three hits over seven innings while taking a no-decision in Friday's loss to the Reds. Lester turned in a nice, economical performance, requiring just 92 pitches to make it through seven innings of work. Unfortunately, he also walked four while coughing up solo home runs to Eugenio Suarez and Joey Votto in the second and fourth innings, respectively. Lester struck out just two in the outing. Still, he kept the damage to a relative minimum and gave plenty of length before finally ceding to the bullpen after seven frames. The veteran southpaw will bring a 4.75 ERA, 1.54 WHIP and 72/48 K/BB ratio (82 1/3 innings) into a road date with the Mets when he next takes to the mound. Lester has allowed two or fewer runs in five of his last six starts. He has pitched into the seventh inning in two of his last three turns through the rotation.
New York Mets DFS Spin
Tylor Megill fanned 10 while holding the Yankees to two runs in seven innings in the Mets' 10-3 win Friday. Megill hadn't been particularly good over the last month, but he rebounded with the highest strikeout total and longest outing of his young career tonight to win for the third time in 15 starts. Of note, both his velocity and spin rates were significantly up from usual on all of his pitches. He'd seem to be worth a pickup in mixed leagues in the hopes that the improvement in his stuff lingers.
Cardinals vs. Mets Betting Prediction
The Cardinals are now 9-3 in their last 12 games versus the Mets and are 6-1 in their last seven games in Citi Field. They’re also 13-5 in their last 18 road games, are 7-2 in their last nine games when playing the third game of a series and are 6-1 in their last seven games overall. On the other side, the Mets are just 7-20 in their last 27 games versus a team with a winning record and are 2-10 in their last 11 home games versus an opponent with a winning record.
