Stratton hurls complete-game shutout

San Francisco starting pitcher Chris Stratton tossed a gem last night as he threw all nine innings in a 2-0 victory over the Rockies. He gave up two hits while striking out seven and walking two. Nick Hundley helped pace the offense as he went 2-for-3 with a double and a run. Joe Panik was also 2-for-3 with a run. Austin Slater finished 1-for-3 and drove in both runs.

Rockies held to two hits

Charlie Blackmon was 1-for-4 from the leadoff spot, while Ian Desmond finished 1-for-3 as those were the only two hits for Colorado in yesterday's defeat. Tyler Anderson took the loss as he allowed two earned runs on seven hits with six strikeouts and no walks over six innings.

German Marquez (12-9, 3.94) will start today for Colorado, while San Francisco counters with Madison Bumgarner (5-6, 3.30).

MLB Betting Trends

Colorado

The Rockies are 10-1 in their last 11 Saturday games. Colorado is 7-1 in the last eight meetings.

San Francisco

The Giants are 1-11 in their last 12 games overall. The under is 13-3 in the last 16 San Francisco games on Saturdays.

Marquez has flourished the last couple months and he is still fyling under the radar, although more people are noticing each start. He'll have a huge ballpark boost today and while he opposes a strong starting pitcher in Bumgarner, the Rockies have a lineup that hits lefties well and should provide enough to get Marquez the win.
