Indians fall in middle game
Cleveland lost by a score of 5-3 at Minnesota Saturday to drop to 82-61 overall and 39-32 on the road. Yasiel Puig helped lead the Indians offensively as he finished 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Jason Kipnis went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Oscar Mercado and Carlos Santana each finished 0-for-3 with a walk and a run. Adam Cimber took the loss in relief as he gave up two earned runs on two hits with one strikeout and no walks in one-third of an inning. Mike Clevinger gets the start today for Cleveland as he enters with a 10-2 record, 2.71 ERA and 1.04 WHIP plus 132 strikeouts over 93 innings pitched.
Garver launches two HRs in win
Minnesota secured a 5-3 home win over Cleveland Saturday to improve to 88-54 overall and 40-30 at home. Mitch Garver provided much of the offense for the Twins as he went 2-for-3 with two home runs, a walk and four RBIs. Willians Astudillo was 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jonathan Schoop ended the contest 1-for-4 with a triple, a run and an RBI. Zack Littell recorded the win in relief as he gave up one hit with no strikeouts or walks in one scoreless frame. Taylor Rogers picked up the save as he struck out one in a perfect inning of work. Randy Dobnak gets the start today as he comes in with an 0-0 record, 0.00 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with eight strikeouts over nine innings of work.
MLB Betting Trends
Cleveland
The Indians are 9-3 in their last 12 Sunday games. Cleveland is 1-4 in its last five road games.
Minnesota
The Twins are 11-3 in their last 14 games overall. Minnesota is 48-22 in its last 70 games versus the AL Central.
Prediction:
Cleveland needs every win it can get a little more than Minnesota right now and with the red-hot Clevinger on the mound, I like its chances here even on the road against a team with a very good offense. With the Twins starting Dobnak and having the bullpen heavily involved, I think they give up several runs here and Clevinger might not need much to back him to a win.
