M's slowed by Cubs
Seattle lost both games of its interleague series at Chicago including Tuesday night's 6-1 decision. Daniel Vogelbach drove in the lone run with a pinch-hit RBI single. Dee Gordon finished 2-for-4 with a run scored. Braden Bishop also ended the contest 2-for-4. Felix Hernandez took the loss as he surrendered two earned runs on two hits with five strikeouts and four walks over three innings. Marco Gonzales gets the start tonight as he enters with a 14-10 record, 4.30 ERA and 1.34 WHIP plus 128 strikeouts over 169 2/3 innings pitched.
Astros doubled up at Brewers
Houston lost by a score of 4-2 Tuesday night in its interleague series finale at Milwaukee to drop to 90-50 overall and 39-33 on the road. Alex Bregman led the Astros offensively as he finished 2-for-4 with a solo home run. Josh Reddick went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Abraham Toro was 1-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Zack Greinke suffered the loss as he gave up four earned runs on eight hits with four strikeouts and no walks over six innings. MLB Betting Trends
Seattle
The Mariners are 1-4 in their last five games overall. Seattle is 1-5 in the last six Gonzales starts.
Houston
The Astros are 20-7 in the last 27 Miley starts. Houston is 40-18 in its last 58 games overall.
Prediction:
Gonzales has had a fairly good season and analytics show he's been better than his base numbers suggest. But Houston provides a bad matchup with plenty of power, even if it's missing a couple bats. Miley should mow down this underwhelming Mariners lineup. With a possible rout here, I'm betting the Astros on the runline.
