Red Sox hit three HRs in win

Boston cruised to a 10-6 victory Tuesday night in a series opener at Colorado to improve to 71-62 overall and 37-28 on the road. Christian Vazquez helped lead the Red Sox offense as he finished 1-for-5 with a home run and two RBIs. Xander Bogaerts ended the contest 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored. Jackie Bradley Jr. was 1-for-2 with a solo homer plus two walks. Brock Holt ended the contest 3-for-4 with a double, a walk, a run scored and two RBIs. Rick Porcello picked up the win as he gave up two earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and no walks over five innings of work. Eduardo Rodriguez gets the start tonight for Boston as he enters with a 15-5 record, 3.92 ERA and 1.33 WHIP with 155 strikeouts over 160 2/3 innings.

Garcia hit hard in debut

Colorado lost by a count of 10-6 at home Tuesday night versus Boston to drop to 59-74 overall and 34-30 at home. Nolan Arenado paced the Rockies offense as he finished the contest 3-for-5 with a home run, a double and three RBIs. Sam Hilliard went 1-for-3 with a homer, a walk and two RBIs. Charlie Blackmon ended the game 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI. Rico Garcia took the loss in his MLB debut as he gave up six earned runs on seven hits with two strikeouts and five walks over five innings of work. Peter Lambert takes the mound tonight for Colorado as he comes in with a 2-4 record, 6.40 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with 44 strikeouts over 70 1/3 innings pitched.
