Public Betting Trends

According to oddsmakers, the Astros are the favorite at home, as they are getting odds of -200 to win. The Mariners are listed with a money line of +170 to prevail, while the over/under total has been set at 8 runs. The public betting for this game currently has 74 percent going on Houston on the road. This information is subject to change, however, so be sure to check out our MLB Public Betting Page for updated figures on the game.

Mariners win first two

The Mariners have won the first two games of this series on the road after Friday’s 5-2 victory. The Mariners are now 67-50 overall and 31-26 on the road. Seattle is putting up 4.21 runs per game on offense while allowing 4.41 per contest.

Wade LeBlanc gets the start for the Mariners tonight. He is 6-2 through 18 starts and 23 appearances in 2018. LeBlanc carries a 3.81 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP. He also has amassed 89 strikeouts and 23 walks over 113.1 innings of work.

Astros drop second straight

The Astros have surprisingly dropped the first two games in this series, giving up 13 runs over the two games. Houston comes into this game 73-44 overall and 32-26 at home. Houston is putting up 4.93 runs per game this year while allowing 3.25 per contest.

The Astros go with Charlie Morton on the mound tonight. He is 12-2 through 22 starts and carries a 2.81 ERA and a 1.14 WHIP. Morton has pitched a total of 131.1 innings this year and has 167 strikeouts with 53 walks.

MLB Betting Trends

Seattle

The Mariners have won 19 of LeBlanc’s last 26 starts overall, but have lost his last five road starts against a winning team.

Houston

The Astros have lost six straight at home right now, but they have won six of Morton’s last eight home starts.

Prediction:

I find it hard to believe that Houston can lose a third straight at home to Seattle. The Mariners just don’t have the hitting and pitching combo to be able to compete with the best teams in the AL right now. LeBlanc just gave up seven runs in 4.1 innings to Houston on Aug. 1. He has a 10.22 ERA against the Astros over four games this year. Morton has a 1.38 ERA over two starts against Seattle. I think the Astros find a way to get it done today.

The Pick: Houston Astros -200
