Mariners no-hit for second time

Seattle suffered its second combined no-hitter in the past few weeks Saturday night with a 9-0 loss at Houston. Marco Gonzales took the loss on the mound as he allowed four earned runs on eight hits with two strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Domingo Santana and Ryan Court were both 0-for-2 with a walk in the defeat, while Mallex Smith and Daniel Vogelbach went 0-for-3 plus a walk. Seattle has not yet announced its starting pitcher for today's game.

Sanchez leads no-hit effort

Aaron Sanchez threw six no-hit innings and the bullpen combo of Will Harris, Joe Biagini and Chris Devenski completed the no-hitter Saturday night in a 9-0 home win over Seattle. Sanchez struck out six and walked two over his six no-hit frames to notch the win. Jose Altuve led the offensive effort as he was 2-for-5 with a solo home run, a double and three runs scored. Michael Brantley went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two runs and four RBIs. Alex Bregman finished 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Justin Verlander gets the start today for the Astros as he comes in with a 14-4 record, 2.73 ERA and 0.81 WHIP with 196 strikeouts over 151 2/3 innings pitched.

MLB Betting Trends

Seattle

The Mariners are 10-34 in their last 44 road games. Seattle is 1-4 in its last five Sunday games.

Houston

The Astros are 6-0 in their last six Sunday games. Houston is 5-1 in its last six Verlander starts on Sundays.

Prediction:

Verlander against a time that was no-hit yesterday and doesn't know who its opener is going to be. Enough said. Go with the Astros and strongly consider the runline when the line is released.
