Mets take two of three versus Padres

New York won the final two games of its three-game series against San Diego, winning the finale by a count of 6-4. Amed Rosario finished 1-for-4 with two RBIs from the leadoff spot. Jose Bautista was 1-for-3 with a home run, a double, two runs and two RBIs. Corey Oswalt picked up the win as he surrendered two earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts and two walks over five innings. Anthony Swarzak earned his second save as he gave up one hit and struck out three in two scoreless innings.

Marte leaves game, Pirates streak snapped

Pittsburgh had its 11-game winning streak come to a close Wednesday afternoon with a 4-0 loss at Cleveland. Outfielder Starling Marte left the game with a hand injury after being hit by a pitch in the first inning and is questionable to play today. Adam Frazier replaced Marte and was 1-for-3 with a double. Jordy Mercer and Jacob Stallings both finished 1-for-3 as well. Jameson Taillon took the loss as he allowed two earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and one walk over seven innings.

Steven Matz (4-8, 3.65 ERA) will start today for New York, while the Pirates turn to Nick Kingham (5-4, 4.11).
