De Los Santos wins debut
Phillies rookie Enyel De Los Santos picked up the win in his MLB debut last night as he allowed three earned runs on five hits with six strikeouts and three walks over 6 1/3 innings. Maikel Franco helped lead the offense as he went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs. Rhys Hoskins went 3-for-5 and scored a run. Odubel Herrera was 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored. Nick Williams finished 3-for-5 with two RBIs.
Rosario triples twice
Mets shortstop Amed Rosario had a strong game Tuesday as he was 3-for-4 with two triples, two runs and an RBI. Jose Reyes finished 1-for-3 with a walk and a run. Drew Gagnon suffered the loss in his MLB debut as he gave up six earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and a walk over 4 2/3 innings.
Vince Velasquez (5-8, 4.69 ERA) starts today for the Phillies, while New York turns to deGrom (5-4, 1.79).
MLB Betting Trends
The under is 12-3 in the last 15 Phillies games overall. Philadelphia is 8-2 in its last 10 overall.
The Mets are 2-9 in their last 11 Wednesday games. New York is 59-28 in the last 87 meetings.
It seems easy to take deGrom, but the Mets haven't been scoring for him all season which explains his 5-4 record despite spectacular numbers in all areas. Velasquez is inconsistent, but the Mets have the type of offense that goes to sleep for long stretches and I believe he can shut them down. All Philly needs to do is generate a few runs somehow and it is probably golden. Go with the underdog here.
