Dodgers ride Kershaw to win
Los Angeles ace Clayton Kershaw threw six shutout innings Monday night, giving up two hits while striking out five and walking one to earn the win in an 8-2 triumph at San Diego. Justin Turner helped lead the offense by going 3-for-5 with a pair of RBIs. Yasmani Grandal went 2-for-5 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Chris Taylor was 2-for-5 with a double, a stolen base, a run and an RBI. Andrew Toles finished 2-for-3 with a double, a walk, two runs and two RBIs.
Myers continues tear
While the game was a foregone conclusion when Wil Myers homered in the ninth inning to make it an 8-1 game at that point, it continued his recent home run trend as it was his fifth long ball in the last three games. He now has seven for the season. Myers finished the game 2-for-4. Eric Hosmer was 1-for-4 with a double and scored the other run in the ninth inning. Luis Perdomo took the loss as he was allowed six runs on 10 hits with no strikeouts and three walks over seven innings to take the loss. He helped out a beleaguered bullpen by throwing 111 pitches despite not fooling many bats.
Rich Hill (2-3, 4.56 ERA) will start today for the Dodgers, while Eric Lauer (4-5, 4.84) gets the call for the Padres
MLB Betting Trends
Los Angeles
The under is 7-2 in the last nine Dodgers road games. Los Angeles is 15-5 in its last 20 games overall.
San Diego
The Padres are 5-16 in their last 21 games overall. The over is 11-4 in the last 15 meetings.
Prediction:
Yesterday's game went over, but with the Padres bullpen better rested I think this game stays under the total. This is a pitcher's park and Hill appears to maybe be turning a corner now that his blister issues are in the past. Lauer has had his moments this season and is learning with each start. Take the under here.
