Boston Red Sox DFS SPIN
Martin Perez pitched 5 1/3 innings of two-run ball Wednesday in the defeat of the Royals. Perez improved to 6-4 with a 4.04 ERA. He's had just one strong outing against a contender -- he impressed with 7 2/3 scoreless innings against the Astros on June 3 before giving up six runs in two innings against the same team five days later -- but he's giving the Red Sox all they could have hoped for. His 4.04 ERA would be easily his best mark since he came in at 3.62 in 20 starts in his first full season in 2013.
Los Angeles Angels DFS Spin
Jose Suarez will start for the Angels on Monday against the Red Sox. This move into the rotation could be a permanent thing for Suarez, who had been flourishing to the tune of a 1.98 ERA, 1.098 WHIP, and 26/9 K/BB ratio over 27 1/3 innings of relief. The 23-year-old left-hander certainly seems worthy of a try in mixed fantasy leagues. Dylan Bundy might be asked to pitch out of the bullpen for a bit, like he did successfully on Wednesday night against the Yankees.
Red Sox vs. Angels Betting Prediction
The Red Sox are 12-4 in their last 16 games versus the Angels and have won five of their last six games at Angel Stadium. They’re also 9-1 in their last 10 games overall, are 5-1 in their last six games versus a team with a winning record and are 4-1 in their last five games when facing a left-handed starter. While the Angels are 9-3 in their last 12 home games and have won four straight, they’re just 3-7 in their last 10 games as an underdog and are 1-4 in their last four games when facing an opponent like Boston with a win percentage above .600.
