LA wins on rookie walk-off for third day in row

A rookie hit a game-winning home run for the third straight day Sunday afternoon as Will Smith hit a pinch-hit walk-off three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to send Los Angeles to a 6-3 home win over Colorado. Chris Taylor provided the rest of the offense off the bench as he was 1-for-2 with a home run and three RBIs. Enrique Hernandez ended the contest 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored. Matt Beaty finished 2-for-4 with two runs. Kenley Jansen notched the win in relief as he gave up one hit and struck out two in a scoreless frame. Clayton Kershaw draws the start tonight as he enters with a 7-1 record, 2.85 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 73 strikeouts over 79 innings pitched.

Diamondbacks snap six-game skid

A walk-off RBI single by Tim Locastro in the bottom of the 10th inning Sunday afternoon scored Nick Ahmed and sent Arizona to a 3-2 home win over San Francisco. Locastro finished the game 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Christian Walker went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Eduardo Escobar ended the contest 2-for-4. Matt Andriese picked up the win in relief as he threw one spotless inning with one strikeout. Zack Greinke starts tonight for the Diamondbacks as he comes in with an 8-3 record, 2.91 ERA and 0.93 WHIP with 87 strikeouts over 102 innings.

I really want to take Arizona here as it is at home with its best pitcher on the mound, but LA is so good right now and Kershaw is in outstanding form. With the D-Backs slumping, I don't think the timing is right to take them here against MLB's best team.
