Encarnacion homers in loss

Seattle lost by a count of 6-5 at Minnesota Tuesday night to drop to 28-42 overall and 15-20 on the road. Edwin Encarnacion helped lead the offense as he went 1-for-3 with a home run, a walk and three RBIs. Domingo Santana was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Mallex Smith finished 2-for-4 with a walk, a stolen base and two runs. Kyle Seager ended the contest 2-for-5 with an RBI. Brandon Brennan suffered the loss in relief as he gave up three earned runs on two hits plus a walk without retiring a batter. Tommy Milone will start tonight for the M's as he enters with a 1-1 record, 3.10 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 20 strikeouts over 20 1/3 innings.

Twins rally past Mariners

Minnesota scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning Tuesday night to earn a 6-5 home victory over Seattle. Jorge Polanco helped pace the Twins offensively as he went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a run and an RBI. Jonathan Schoop was 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs. Jason Castro finished 1-for-3 with a solo home run. Matt Magill picked up the win in relief as he struck out one in a perfect inning of work. Trevor May earned his first save of the season as he allowed two hits and struck out one in a scoreless inning. Jose Berrios draws the start tonight for Minnesota as he comes in with an 8-2 record, 3.14 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 78 strikeouts over 83 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Seattle

The Mariners are 7-19 in their last 26 road games. Seattle is 1-4 in the last five meetings.

Minnesota

The Twins are 4-0 in their last four games versus the AL West. Minnesota is 12-2 in the last 14 Berrios starts.

Prediction:

While Milone has been sharp for Seattle, the Mariners are a mess as a whole and are going to have a tough time solving Berrios. The Mariners blew their shot at a win yesterday and I'd be surprised if they were even in a position to blow it late again today. But if they are, Seattle will probably find a way to blow it again considering its 15-40 stretch following a blazing 13-2 start to the season that seems like a very long time ago.
