Los Angeles Angels DFS Spin
Angels starting pitcher and designated hitter Shohei Ohtani had a monster day at the dish in L.A.’s 12-5 win over the White Sox on Wednesday afternoon. The two-way star cracked a pair of home runs, drove in 4 runs, and scored 3 runs on the day. His second homer was a titanic blast that traveled a career-long 459 feet. On the season, Ohtani is slashing .269/.345/.538 with 15 home runs, 38 RBIs, and 7 stolen bases. You may have to pay a premium for Shohei Ohtani in DFS, but he may be worth it on Thursday.
Houston Astros DFS Spin
Astros outfielder Jake Meyers was one of the few bright spots in Houston’s 8-2 home loss to Minnesota on Wednesday. Meyers went 1 for 4 with a 403-foot home run to right-center field in the 8th inning to put Houston on the board. Meyers might have some value as a right-handed hitter against the Angels’ lefty starter Reid Detmers (4.93 ERA, 1.53 WHIP) on Thursday. Meyers is slashing .263/.462/.526 against left-handed pitching this season, and he seems likely to pick up a start in the outfield in Game 1 of this four-game set.

Angels vs. Astros Betting Prediction
Houston lefthander Framber Valdez was originally slated to start this game, but it appears the Astros may be considering going with someone else. If Valdez does start, the Astros will likely be heavy favorites as he’s 5-4 with a sparkling 2.38 ERA, and a terrific 1.04 WHIP this season. It’s worth monitoring his status all the way up to game time.
If Houston does elect to go with someone else, the team will likely be in good hands. The Astros lead the majors with a team ERA of 3.25. What’s more, Houston’s opponents are only hitting .235 against their pitching staff which is tied for fourth-best in baseball. One final stat regarding Houston’s arms: they have 552 strikeouts this season which is second in the majors. I believe that Houston will win this game outright regardless of who takes the mound at the start of the game on Thursday.
MLB Betting Prediction: HOUSTON ASTROS -160
