Villar, Nunez power O's to win

Baltimore snapped its seven-game losing skid Saturday night with a 9-6 victory at Colorado. A four-run fourth inning gave the Orioles a 7-4 advantage it would not relinquish. Jonathan Villar helped pace the Baltimore offense as he went 3-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs and three RBIs. Renato Nunez finished 3-for-5 with a home run, two runs and two RBIs. Pedro Severino ended the game 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Trey Mancini went 2-for-4 with a double, a walk and a run. Andrew Cashner picked up the win as he allowed five earned runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and no walks over five innings. Josh Lucas recorded his first save as he threw the final three innings of scoreless baseball, giving up one hit with two strikeouts and one walk. David Hess draws the start today for Baltimore as he comes in with a 1-6 record, 6.75 ERA and 1.41 WHIP with 38 strikeouts over 45 1/3 innings of work.

Arenado drives in five

Colorado lost by a count of 9-6 at home Saturday night against Baltimore to drop to 23-27 overall and 10-12 on the road. Nolan Arenado carried the Rockies offense as he ended the night 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and five RBIs. Chris Iannetta was 2-for-4 with a solo home run and a double. Trevor Story went 2-for-5 with a double and three runs. Kyle Freeland suffered the loss as he surrendered seven earned runs on 10 hits with two strikeouts and one walk over four innings of work. German Marquez starts tonight for Colorado as he comes in with a 5-2 record, 3.38 ERA and 1.11 WHIP with 72 strikeouts over 72 innings.

MLB Betting Trends

Baltimore

The Orioles are 28-72 in their last 100 games overall. Baltimore is 1-4 in its last five interleague games.

Colorado

The Rockies are 6-1 in the last seven Marquez interleague starts. Colorado is 4-1 in the last five Marquez starts on Sundays.

Prediction:

The Rockies fell flat yesterday, but don't expect that today. Hess is one of the most hittable pitchers in baseball, whereas Marquez has learned how to navigate Coors Field and faces a mediocre Orioles lineup. Look for Baltimore to have a lot more trouble scoring today, putting them in a deficit it won't recover from.
