Luis Arraez went 3-for-3 with a run scored and two walks in an 8-2 win over the Brewers on Sunday. Arraez had himself a big day at the plate as he reached base in all five plate appearances. He set the tone early with a single to left field off of Adrian Houser to start the game. The 23-year-old has now hit leadoff in all three games for the Twins to start the season, and should get everyday playing time at third base with Josh Donaldson on the injured list. Arraez will have a chance to score plenty of runs at the top of the Twins' order and has the contact skills to compete for a batting title.
Detroit Tigers DFS SPIN
Akil Baddoo slugged a solo homer on Sunday in his major-league debut against the Indians. Baddoo launched an opposite-field solo shot off Indians’ starter Aaron Civale in his first major-league at-bat in the third inning. It was his lone hit in three at-bats. The 22-year-old outfielder exploded onto fantasy radar screens with a stellar performance in spring training, which helped him secure a spot on the Tigers’ Opening Day roster as a Rule 5 selection from the Twins. He’ll need to carve out an everyday role in the team’s outfield rotation in order to contribute in shallow mixed leagues, but he offers enough over-the-fence pop and stolen base upside to warrant a speculative roster spot for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues and AL-only formats moving forward.
Twins vs. Tigers Betting Prediction
The Twins are 39-17 in their last 56 games against the Tigers and are 12-5 in their last 17 games at Comerica. Minnesota has also won four of its last five games overall and 12 of its last 16 against the rest of the American League Central. The Tigers, meanwhile, are 24-69 in their last 93 divisional games and are 18-58 in their last 76 home games when facing a right-handed starter.
