2013 UFC 157 Betting Odds & Wagers for Rousey vs. Carmouche
By Drew Sharper

ANAHEIM, CA (The Spread) – The UFC makes history on Saturday, as its first-ever women’s bout takes places as the main event of UFC 157. Here is a look at the odds for this card.

UFC 157 will take place from the Honda Center in Anaheim, California with the main card bouts airing live on PPV at 10PM ET.

The main event of Saturday’s card is the inaugural women’s bout in the UFC and is for the Women’s Bantamweight Championship as champion Ronda Rousey (6-0) defends her title against Liz Carmouche (8-2). According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Rousey is the overwhelming favorite to win this bout, as she has odds of -1100 to win, while Carmouche has a money line of +650 to prevail. Rousey, who was an Olympic medalist in judo, has been absolutely dominant in her short MMA career. She is 6-0, winning all he bouts by first-round armbar, with five of the six wins coming in under a minute. Carmouche has won her last two fights, both by stoppage, but she has lost to Sarah Kaufman, who Rousey submitted in under a minute in her last fight. Rousey seems unstoppable, but Carmouche can pack a punch.

The co-main event of Saturday’s card is a light-heavyweight clash between two top contenders as Lyoto Machida (18-3) takes on Dan Henderson (29-8). According to oddsmakers, Machida is the favorite in this bout, as he has odds of -225 to win, while Henderson has a money line of +175 to win. Both men are former light heavyweight champions for respective organizations. Machida is just 2-3 in his last five fights, but has two impressive knockouts in those two victories. Henderson has won four straight bouts, but hasn’t fought since November of 2011. He has three knockout victories in his last four fights. He will have the grappling advantage in this bout, and he has great power in his hands, but Machida is the more technical striker of the two, and much faster. Machida also probably has the advantage when it comes to cardio.
