COLORADO ST. -7
The Colorado State Rams despite off a less than stellar season, did look very competitive coming down the stretch drive of their current campaign. The Rams are in my opinion the far superior team in this matchup against TCU and have the advantage of playing this contest in their home state of Colorado (Denver, Pepsi Center)! Note: Colorado State pounded TCU at home on Feb 22 of this season 89-74(15 point margin of victory) TCU is 0-8 in conference road games and 0-14 overall away on the season losing by an average of 12.6 PPG! Key stat: Colorado State leads the Mountain West in field goal percentage hitting at a .493 clip on the year. Conversely, TCU is last in the league in field goal percentage shooting .370 this season! Final Note: Colorado State is 10-1 ATS L/11 against a losing team! Lay the points with Colorado State –Projected score: Colorado State 77 TCU 64

GAMBLER'S WORLD
Tip of the Day - Mar. 7, 2006

TIP OF THE DAY
Sport: National Basketball Assoc.

Game: Toronto Raptors @ Cleveland Cavaliers on Mar 7 2006 7:00PM

Prediction: Toronto Raptors

Current Line: -6 -110

Over/Under: 197 -110

Reason: Toronto (+) over Cleveland This has been a tightly contested
series with Toronto holding a 20-17 series advantage. In Cleveland they
have split the last 18 meetings. Toronto is one of the hardest playing
teams in the league. They don't have a roster full of talent but they
are rarely dominated in any game. In fact, the Raptors 15 straight games
without losing by more than 7 points. They have faced the likes of New
Jersey, Miami, Dallas, Memphis, San Antonio and the Los Angeles Clippers
and none of those teams could win by a margin. By the way the first four
of those teams were played on the road. Simply put you get your moneys
worth when you back the Raptors. Unfortunately the same thing cannot be
said of the Cavaliers. They are either hot or cold as they are one of
the most inconsistent teams in the league. Cleveland enters this game
having lost 5 of 7 with defeats by 7, 12, 12, 8 and 9 points. Series
history expects a close game and the way these two teams have played
this year you would expect Toronto to take it to the wire. We simply
can't trust the inconsistent Cavaliers. PLAY TORONTO

Tuesday NCAA Basketball:
Western Kentucky-1½ over So.Alabama:
(3* selection)
South Alabama has been on a solid recent run at 7-0 SU and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 outings, and the Jaguars are also 8-3 ATS on the road for the season. But in our opinion Western Kentucky is still the best team in the Sun Belt, and the 23-6 SU Hilltoppers (#47 RPI, #78 Sagarin) are no lock to make the NCAA Tourney if they do not win this tourney title game tonight. West.Kent. has won 11 of their last 12 games SU, and they are led by the duo of OG A.Winchester (18.6 ppg. and 5.3 rpg.) and SF C.Lee (17.7 ppg., 6.3 rpg. and strong defender). Winchester poured in 33 points in the Hilltoppers 80-72 win over La-Lafayette in the semis on Monday, and in that contest West.Kent. owned a 34-26 rebound edge. In their semifinal game So.Alabama beat Denver 75-65 while committing only 5 turnovers which game them a +11 TO margin for the contest. These teams lone meeting in the regular season was a tight 74-73 road victory by West.Kent., but in that game So.Alabama did get the benefit of a 22-7 FT advantage. West.Kent. shot 53% FG in that contest and has been a strong offensive team all season at 79 ppg., 48.0% FG, and 40.2% treys. Given the near pick’em line for this 6:30pm PT tipoff we like a 3* play on Western Kentucky to prevail.

Tony George
Play OVER 128 Butler / Wisc.-Milwaukee

Butler has scored over 71 ppg their last 4 games and are stepping up with point production and they'll need it tonight, as Wisc. Milwaukee is averaging 78 ppg their last 5, and the Panthers will try to outscore their opponent tonight. I have a power rating of 137 on the total in this game, 9 pointys over the stated total. These two have went under both times they played this season. Look for the 3rd time to be a charm.

Play 1 Unit on the OVER...

Vegas Experts Tip Of The Day

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe Dallas' defense isn't so good after all. The Mavericks let a third quarter lead slip away Sunday in a loss to the Suns. Can Dallas rebound and cover a big number Tuesday night at home versus Portland?

Blazers' coach Nate McMillan was not happy with his club's Saturday night performance where they stayed close at San Antonio for 36 minutes then were outscored 21-6 down the stretch to lose the game and the cover. Expect 48 minutes from the Blazers and a better all-around game from the Mavs. They have won the last six against the Blazers but none by this margin, winning by nine, seven, four, 12, 14 and six points. Supporting angle says to Play On - Underdogs of 10 or more points (PORTLAND) - in a game involving two average defensive teams (92-98 PPG) after 42+ games, after scoring 85 points or less. (36-13 since 1996, 73.5%)

Play on: Portland

Cto Best Bets

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

HOUSTON over *Minnesota (NBA)...Wins by visitors when these Western foes split their first two continued trend that’s seen road team
now win 6 of last 7 in series. Besides, it’s been a pretty good idea lately to side with Houston as a visitor, as Rockets continue to offer good
spread value away from Toyota Center (21-9 vs. line on road). And with Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming back in lineup, there’s still time for
Houston (which won first 3 after All-Star break) to make run at a playoff berth. Not sure we can say same about lurching T-wolves (5-15
vs. line last 20 thru Feb. 27). HOUSTON 89 - *Minnesota 76 RATING - 10

*WASHINGTON over Boston...Celtics’ new, post-trade nucleus (including rookie F Ryan Gomes & second-year PG Delonte West) showing
good promise, paced by veterans Paul Pierce & Wally Szczerbiak. Too bad that quartet excels on offense, but not on defense, because
Washington’s trio of G Gilbert Arenas and Fs Antawn Jamison & Caron Butler have been sizzling during the Wizards’ recent 10-game cover
streak from Feb. 4 thru 26. Those triplets now up to 65 ppg TY, and their mobility, shooting, FTing, and rebounding (nearly 20 pg combined)
have carried Washington within reach of fourth place and a first-round home-court edge in the Eastern playoffs. The Wiz (11-2 vs. spread
last 13 at home thru Feb. 28) prevail at home in another shootout. *WASHINGTON 112 - Boston 93 RATING - 10

===================
Pointwise Key Plays
Best Bets: Washington, Atlanta (3), L.a. Clippers (2)

===================

Winning points best bets

**PREFERRED
Toronto over *Cleveland by 6
The Wizards are right in the Cavs rearview and sit just 2.5 games back at press time for
the fourth spot in the East. Cleveland needs to win this game after its tough stretch but
it’s no secret that we’re fans of the Raptors around here, especially when taking a good
chunk of points. CLEVELAND 106-100.

**PREFERRED
Houston over *Minnesota by 10
The Rockets kept it close even though they were playing without Yao and Tracy
McGrady shot 6-for-19 in a 96-92 home loss to the Timberwolves in late January.
Houston is still the best road underdog in the NBA and Minny doesn’t have much
momentum at home. HOUSTON 91-81.

**PREFERRED
*LA Clippers over San Antonio by 6
SF Corey Maggette may have made his return from an injury that has kept him out for
much of the year. The Clippers are playing well and reintegrating Maggette back into the
rotation may cause them to stumble against some better teams as he gradually gets his
timing and conditioning back. However, it is the Spurs’ fourth game in six nights, with
three being against playoff contenders and LA is strong at home. CLIPPERS 96-90.
