Leaving momentarily for long weekend in Las Vegas (from PA), and chomping at the bit (third trip in my lifetime). Though I wish I had some of the expertise I see in these forums, hopefully I can still hold my own vs. the Blackjack dealers and Sportsbooks. Oh... since I am committed (to a wife and child in PA), I will have to be good; however, still looking forward to the scenery in the "mecca for hot chicks" (per mcash). Cheers...

Good luck, maybe you will come home with some of my damn money.

The scenery is very, very nice. Bring a t-shirt though cause it was 115 on Tuesday.

Best Sports Book, Mirage or Hilton. Best Tables, MGM. Biggest party, Hard Rock. I REALLY recommend Hard Rock.

Have a nice time!

Thanks... I saw the reply post after returning. Had a great time - I love that place. It's the first time in three trips I was in the black at the tables, though only modestly (i.e. not enough to cover expenses). It was hotter than I'd seen it before: 105-110 degrees.

To make this post a better fit for this forum, I do have two open NFL wagers (I don't have a "friend" locally to take these at this point):

Over/under on total season wins:
St. Louis over 11.5 (+115)
New England over 8.5 (-155)

I don't see how either of them have taken a step backwards. I dislike betting baseball and preseason football (I wish it was November/December), so I did little in the sportsbooks, other than check out every one.

Hard Rock won the "scenery" battle hands-down among hotel/casinos. I had been there previously, and made it a priority to show the two guys traveling with me, who hadn't been before. They were not disappointed! (Surprise honorable mention: the clientele at the Mandalay Bay, plus the cocktail waitress outfit was a winner).

We went to Fremont Street briefly to get better odds on the tables, but ended up losing there anyway. Did much better on the main strip.

Alas... back to the real world...

If Pacific time wasn't so wacky I would seriously consider packing up shop and moving out there. I'm not a real big fan of that temperature either, but I would risk it to be able to enjoy my surroundings.....

I don't really know about that high number on STL. I would rather take a mediocre team at around 8 wins then go for 11.5. Just seems too high. Not trying to have a nail-biter till the end of the season. Would rather go week to week on that kinda stress

If you are looking for props like this u need to try betting onling if you don't already. I have said it a million times here, but once you wager online you will never go back to the street guy. With the addition of Olympic as a sponsor they just put our sponsors with Prop Bets category through the roof.

If you ever want to move from the corner to the web let me know and I will help set you up.

Agreed. I was more hesitant on St. Louis (than with New England) with that high a number, and their schedule is no cakewalk, and... wait, remind me again why I made that pick?

Much obliged... I will likely eventually take you up on that offer of advice. I've wanted to play on-line for some time, but have been lazy in trying to figure which books to trust, which of the payment methods are the least annoying/most convenient, etc. So far, my laziness is winning...!
