CFB | TCU @ COLORADO | 09/02 | 10:00 PM EDT
COLORADO +10.5
ANALYSIS: Do I think Colorado will be very good this year? Not really but I don't believe the Buffs should be getting this many points at home against a TCU program adjusting a new coaching staff. Boulder is not an easy place (but Partytown USA!) to play and CU won its final three there last year. The Frogs dropped their final four away in 2021, all in lopsided fashion.

MLB | TEXAS @ BOSTON | 09/02 | 7:10 PM EDT
BOSTON -176
ANALYSIS: This is for Friday's game and I'll make this short but sweet: Dallas Keuchel is pitching for the Rangers. That's all you need to know. Obviously hit "listed pitcher" on Texas for this wager. Wouldn't shock me for this to get to -200 at some point tomorrow because "Dallas Keuchel Day" is viral now. I don't care if Engelberg from Bad News Bears is pitching for Boston (it's actually Nick Pivetta).

MLB | OAKLAND @ BALTIMORE | 09/02 | 7:05 PM EDT
BALTIMORE -170
ANALYSIS: In other circumstances, I might worry this is a bit of a trap game for the Orioles off impressive series wins in Houston and Cleveland, but the O's don't have the luxury of taking their foot off the gas as they chase a Wild-Card spot. Southpaw JP Sears is a good young pitcher for Oakland, but that lineup remains utter trash. Baltimore's Dean Kremer has allowed just four earned runs over his past three starts and those were against loaded lineups of the Astros, Red Sox and Blue Jays. There might be a sellout at Camden Yards simply for the mega-exciting Gunnar Henderson's home debut. That dude is already one of my favorite non-Chicago players. The Orioles are 7-1 in their past eight at home vs. lefties. I feel like this line should be around -185, so I'll take it now.

CFB | W. MICHIGAN @ MICHIGAN ST. | 09/02 | 7:00 PM EDT
OVER 54.5
ANALYSIS: Michigan State was an entertaining team to watch last season because it had an explosive offense with a tremendous playmaker in Kenneth Walker, and it combined it with a secondary that couldn't cover anybody. Walker's gone, but the offense should still be able to move the ball against the Broncos, and most of that secondary remains intact. There are also new transfers on the defensive side of the ball, and there could be some problems as that unit gels in the first game of the season. Sparty might get 45 on its own.

CFB | ILLINOIS @ INDIANA | 09/02 | 8:00 PM EDT
ILLINOIS +3
ANALYSIS: Indiana is playing its cards close to the vest and not announcing whether Jack Tuttle or Missouri transfer Conor Bazelak will start at QB. Frankly, I don't think it matters, as neither inspires a lot of confidence. The Indiana offense averaged only 10.4 points per game in conference play last season, and I haven't seen enough to believe things will improve dramatically this season. Plus, Illinois had one of the better defenses in the conference last season, and already has a game under its belt with new transfer QB Tommy DeVito. I think Illinois wins, but I'd rather have the points.

MLB | N.Y. YANKEES @ TAMPA BAY | 09/02 | 7:10 PM EDT
TAMPA BAY -135
ANALYSIS: The Yankees head to Tampa Bay where their lead in the AL East is now only 6 games after being as many as 15 games up in the division a couple months ago. Jeffrey Springs is starting for the Rays and he is 2-2 with a 2.18 ERA at home. He has also pitched really well both times he faced the Yankees. Domingo German is still making just his 9th start of the season, and he allowed 3 ER in 4 IP against the Rays when he faced them. The Yankees were the best team in the league at hitting lefties about 15 days ago, and they’ve dropped all the way down to 19th in the league since the trade deadline. The Rays bullpen is ranked 5th while the Yankees bullpen is ranked 9th since the trade deadline, but the Yankees are missing many key bullpen arms to injury. The Rays are also the third best team in the league at 18-9 since the trade deadline and 10-3 at home, while the Yankees are the 3rd worst team in the league since the trade deadline at 9-18 and 5-11 on the road. The Yankees also just split a series against the Athletics then lost a series to the Angels.

MLB | OAKLAND @ BALTIMORE | 09/02 | 7:05 PM EDT
BALTIMORE -170
ANALYSIS: Dean Kremer has been great lately going 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in August. He was also doing it against good lineups like the Red Sox, Blue Jays, and Astros. JP Sears has also been great this season but he is finally getting stretched out to more than 4-5 innings so he is becoming more vulnerable late in the game. The Orioles are also ranked 7th in the league in wOBA against lefties since the trade deadline. The Orioles are 17-10 since the deadline while the Athletics are 10-18 and 5-8 on the road. I think this should be around -200. Another way to look at this series is that I think the Orioles will win at least two games of the three, and maybe sweep. So if the Orioles lose one of the three games and we get them at under -200 every game, we automatically profit over the series.

MLB | MINNESOTA @ CHI. WHITE SOX | 09/02 | 8:10 PM EDT
MINNESOTA -135
ANALYSIS: Over his last five games, Sonny Gray has a 2.03 ERA. He’s only given up eight runs in his last seven games. Minnesota is batting .274 with a .838 OPS in the last seven days. The Twins are averaging 6.33 runs over their last three games as well. It’ll be a bullpen day for the White Sox, who have the third-worst in the AL (4.16 ERA). Chicago’s starter, Davis Martin, has given up 10 earned runs in 11.2 innings pitched at home this season. In the first game of a series, Chicago is 12-27 on the season. I’m on the Twins.
