MINNESOTA @ N.Y. RANGERS | 01/28 | 8:00 PM EST
N.Y. RANGERS -101
ANALYSIS: The Rangers played like dung on Thursday in losing at Columbus but that has allowed us to get them as home dogs Friday vs. the Wild, and it will be Igor Shesterkin (20-4-2, 2.07 GAA) in net for New York after sitting Thursday. I'd bet him at home against any team as the Russian is 10-1-1 at Madison Square Garden with a 1.97 GAA. The Blueshirts have won five of their past six in the second of a B2B. The Wild are good, but I have to take New York at home at this price.

UTAH @ MEMPHIS | 01/28 | 8:00 PM EST
MEMPHIS -141
ANALYSIS: I'm just going to play this now -- some books have it active, some don't -- on Memphis for Friday. We know Rudy Gobert is out for the Jazz again and that alone should be enough for the Grizz to win at home. Donovan Mitchell might return from his concussion, but if ruled out this number would jump quite a bit. I tend to think Utah waits until Sunday for Mitchell. Thus the early play.

SAN JOSE ST. @ NEW MEXICO | 01/28 | 9:00 PM EST
NEW MEXICO -9.5
ANALYSIS: New Mexico is a winless 0-7 in Mountain West play so far this year but they have kept it close with the best teams in the conference recently. They lost to Fresno by 5, Wyoming by 2, Colorado State by 6, and Boise by 8. They should be ready to take out their frustrations on a fellow winless San Jose team. San Jose lost to Wyoming by 15 and Colorado State by 36. They also suffered a double digit defeat to Air Force. Compared to these results, New Mexico should be able to get their first conference win and do so in dominant fashion. Take the home favorite to cover.

WYOMING @ AIR FORCE | 01/28 | 6:00 PM EST
WYOMING -7.5
ANALYSIS: I like Wyoming to cover the spread on the road. They're a strong team and one of my preseason dark horses for a tournament appearance. I wouldn't be shocked to see them in the MW Conference Tournament Final. Anyway, Air Force just had a home loss to Colorado State by 20 and I think this game has a chance produce a similar result. Wyoming has been playing good basketball recently, their offense is ranked first by efficiency in Mountain West play and 27th in the country. The Air Force defense is consistent but they may have their hands full. I like Wyoming to win this one by a margin closer to 10 or 11 points. Lay it.

PENN @ HARVARD | 01/28 | 5:00 PM EST
HARVARD -169
ANALYSIS: This is only Penn's second road game in Ivy League play and the Quakers lost the first one by 10 at Princeton. Penn hasn't won at Harvard since the 2011-12 season. The Crimson are 7-2 at home. Harvard comes off a loss at Cornell but is 16-3 in its past 19 following a defeat. Coach Tommy Amaker's club ranks first in the Ivy League in steals per game (8.8), turnover margin (4.1) and turnovers forced (16.19).

MINNESOTA @ N.Y. RANGERS | 01/28 | 8:00 PM EST
N.Y. RANGERS 120
ANALYSIS: Rangers took the lead last night before losing it to the Blue Jackets but they were starting their backup goalie who allowed 5 goals in under 20 shots on goal. Igor Shesterkin should be starting tonight and the Rangers are actually really good on the back end of a back to back going 5-3 straight up. Rangers are 13-3-2 at home while the Wild are 11-7-2 on the road this season. Take the home dog.

WASHINGTON @ DALLAS | 01/28 | 9:00 PM EST
DALLAS -125
ANALYSIS: Stars have won 4 games in a row and all four of those games were on the road where they have struggled this season. Now they return home where they are 14-4-1 on the season. Caps have now lost 8 of their last 11 games scoring goals in just 2 of their last 9 periods. Caps are stilling missing TJ Oshie and Nick Jensen while the Stars are just missing a couple role players. Im not really sure why the Stars aren’t bigger favorites.

WINNIPEG @ ST. LOUIS | 01/29 | 3:00 PM EST
ST. LOUIS -175
ANALYSIS: This is a Saturday game, and I may not be at a computer so let's pick this now -- the Jets are free-falling on a six-game losing streak, while the Blues are 14-2 in their past 16 at home and have the hottest goaltender in the league in Ville Husso. The Finn is 6-0-0 with a 1.11 goals-against average and .965 save percentage in seven games this month. This ML will only rise.

BOSTON @ ATLANTA | 01/28 | 7:30 PM EST
ATLANTA -2
ANALYSIS: The Hawks are the healthiest that they have been in a while, which is one of the main reasons why they have won five straight games. During that stretch, they pulled off impressive wins over the Bucks, Heat and Hornets. The Celtics are only 9-14 on the road this season, so I like the Hawks to cover this small number.

BOISE ST. @ FRESNO ST. | 01/28 | 11:00 PM EST
FRESNO ST. +2
ANALYSIS: I love this spot for Fresno State as a home underdog against a Boise State team that has won 13 straight games and is 7-0 in the conference. Boise is coming off a tough win at home against one of the Mountain West's best teams, Wyoming. After tonight's game against Fresno State, Boise will have to travel to take on the Cowboys in Laramie, which makes tonight's game a classic sandwich spot. I don't buy the Broncos getting up and staying on this win streak for three straight tough conference games, which is why I see Fresno State winning outright tonight.

WASHINGTON @ DALLAS | 01/28 | 9:00 PM EST
DALLAS -125
ANALYSIS: Dallas enters on a four-game winning streak and those were all on the road, where the Stars are well under .500. They are 14-4-1 at home and apparently will get some reinforcements back tonight in John Klingberg, Radek Faksa and Jacob Peterson from injury or COVID. I can't figure out why the Caps are struggling so badly. Feels good to be fading them instead of backing (which means they are locks to win now) as they have cost me of late.

COLORADO @ CHICAGO | 01/28 | 8:30 PM EST
UNDER 6.5
ANALYSIS: These teams just played Monday in Denver and the Avalanche won 2-0 -- and this time offensive stars on each side are out in Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and Chicago's Jonathan Toews due to injury. The Hawks' eight-goal outburst Wednesday was a total fluke. The Avs are dynamic offensively but MacKinnon is a major loss and Colorado averages about 0.4 goals fewer on the road.

UTAH @ MEMPHIS | 01/28 | 8:00 PM EST
MEMPHIS -4
ANALYSIS: Rudy Gobert (calf) and Donovan Mitchell (concussion) will be out again, putting the Jazz in a tough spot. They have lost four of their last five games with them out, with their only win coming against the Pistons. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies are getting healthier with Desmond Bane back from his bout with COVID-19.
