For Wednesday night, let's play the Yankees and the Tigers to once again land Over the total.
Last night, the Yanks raced to a 6-0 lead only to see it dissolve in a flash, as the Tigers won 12-11 on a 9th inning walk-off single.
New York will activate CC Sabathia off the IL with his chronic knee injury, but do not expect him to be around much past the third inning of this game. When CC leaves, the plan is for Domingo German to work a few innings. I get the feeling that this combination is going to be giving up a few runs early in this ballgame.
Detroit sends Matthew Boyd to the mound. Boyd's ERA over his last 3 starts is well over 7, as he has allowed 20 hits, and 15 runs in his 18-plus innings of work. All 3 of those starts have landed Over the total as well.
The Tigers have gone 7-3-1 Over the total for their last 11 games, and it should also be pointed out that when Sabathia does start, the Over stands at 13-7 for the season.
The teams combined for 23 runs last night, no reason to think they can't reach at least a dozen combined runs for tonight's affair.

Wednesday free play is the Reds and the Mariners to stay Under the total in the Pacific Northwest tonight.
Last night the teams opened with a 4-3 Under. For the Reds it was their third straight Under and their sixth Under in their last eight games played. For the Mariners, that have now held Under in two of their last three, as Seattle is on an overall 7-4 Under run their past 11 games played.
Seattle pitcher Marco Gonzales looks like the weak link tonight, as he has allowed 11 runs - 9 of them earned - over his last 11 innings pitched, but if he can regain his form and notch a quality start, I have no qualms in backing the Under, as Cincy pitcher Sonny Gray has returned to his dominant form in front of this assignment tonight.
Gray for the year has allowed 4 runs or less in 24 of 28 starts, with the Under 16-11-1. He has also allowed 3 runs or less in 12 of his last 13 starts.
My call is for Gray to dominate, Gonzales to be adequate, and for the Reds and Mariners to play another Under.
