A light bulb went on at half-time against Nortwestern and this Maryland team played like talent they have on paper. I want to see if that momentum carries over to this afternoon. Indiana is better than a Nortwestern like opponent, but they do at time lack the same coaching blunders we see out of Maryland. This is a Hoosiers team that can be bullied and can be pushed around right in front of the rim. Not good signs when playing a physically gifted Terps teams. Take Maryland.

The formerly tissue-soft Bruins have held their last two opponents to a combined 90 points, which resulted in Unders by comfortable margins of 40 and 14. With Oregon going Over in its last five home games, extending the Bruins’ streak won’t be easy, but first-year coach Mick Cronin’s emphasis on defense finally is showing dividends.

The matchup’s most productive player is Minnesota F Daniel Oturu (19.7 points, 11.6 rebounds). He is cut from the mold of the traditional Michigan State big man and is better than any current one.

Those are stats to be envied.

Earlier this season Stanford whipped Cal by 16 in Palo Alto. On Sunday they'll meet in Berkeley, but even the home court won't help the Bears significantly; their average attendance is just 3,850. Cal, which ranks 330th in scoring (63.2), will have trouble scoring against Stanford, which ranks 10th in scoring defense (59.7). My model says the Cardinal cover more than 70 percent of the time.

Stanford is 11-1 ATS in night games this season and its defense should be able to shut down California, which is 335th in the nation in scoring offense.

The Huskies are struggling a bit, especially in the shooting department since losing their best 3-point shooter. Connecticut has been solid defensively and is second in the nation in blocked shots with almost seven per game. The Under is now an incredible 23-5 in Tulsa's last 28 games following an ATS win and 10-3 in the Huskies' last 13 overall contests.

They are just 12-11 at home and four games below .500 on the season, but this number is, in my opinion, a dead giveaway on who the oddsmakers think is going to win. Toronto is 0-7 ATS in the last seven meetings while the Spurs are 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight-up loss.
